The idea of the Gulf Coast Junior Golf League (GCJGL) began several years ago for me and having a child of my own gain interest in the game this summer was plenty of reason to want that golf season not to end.  Excited to have our girls enjoying their first season on the Gulf Coast Junior Tour, Jason Gibson and I could not help but think how do we keep our kids around the game.  As golf professionals, too many times we see juniors start playing the game during a summer golf clinic at the local golf course and then leave with no more golf in their future until the next summer.  So what do you do when your child asks "Dad, what do we do next now that our tournaments are over?” Well, Jason and I start a junior golf league...that's what we do.

To compete against all other possible activities for our youth such as Little League baseball, Pop Warner football, and recreational leagues for basketball, soccer and softball; the Gulf Coast needed our own "junior golf league."  The Gulf Coast Junior Golf League, in addition to other great programs like the Gulf Coast Junior Tour, will help grow the game and provide another great opportunity for junior golf in our region.  We look forward to developing the golf stars of the future.  Who knows we may see the next golf phenom come from the Gulf Coast.  It could happen and the Gulf Coast Junior Golf League might be the launching pad for many great golfers.  However, even if our kids never play on the big stage they will learn a game that they will enjoy for a lifetime, a game that could provide them opportunities in life, a game that will help them build their confidence, a game that will help them make new friends..seems like they are all winners!

The GCJGL allows boys & girls, ages 5 to 14. the opportunity to play golf and receive golf instruction at a relatively low cost during a six to eight-week period (depending on post season play) over the fall , winter, or spring season.

Our model is allowing our juniors to learn to play the game of golf with their friends in a safe and positive environment. The players are organized into teams, eventually sponsored by local businesses, competing for the rights to the “Gulf Coast Cup presented by INSERT YOUR COMPANY NAME HERE."

The game of golf offers valuable life lessons that are embraced and taught to our players by our incredible roster of coaches. The unspoken rules of golf etiquette reinforce the values of honesty, team play, courtesy, respect and responsibility. The Gulf Coast Junior Golf League is dedicated to making learning the game fun!  Sign up your juniors and let's get them on the golf course!
